Community Leader & Award Winning Entrepreneur
As the founding director of the Progress Center for Black Women, a job provider, and a community leader, I continue to observe how city-wide policies impact the everyday experiences of the larger community. Using my model, I turned my leadership toward the formal committees that govern communities. I served on the advisory committee for the Madison Public Market’s MarketReady program as well as served in some capacity including on the board of directors for United Way of Dane County since 2017. I currently serve as a board member for the Overture Center; served as Chair of the City of Madison’s Economic Development Committee and a member (former Chair) of the Mayor’s Guaranteed Income Taskforce. I’m always positioning myself to bring value to spaces for entrepreneurs of color.
