Housing Affordability

As Alder I will work to collaborate effectively with local housing partners to ensure current and future community members are able to afford to rent and/or buy a home in Madison.

Homelessness
Prioritize providing humane + safe shelter with access to resources for our neighbors who are presently unhoused and those facing housing insecurity.
Low-income housing
Expand the affordable housing trust fund.
Affordability
Prioritize new development projects with affordability components that cater to all residents.

Safety & Justice

I fully support investing in violence prevention initiatives that have been proven to work as well as Madison’s Vision Zero Initiative to so that each of us feels much safer going wherever we may need to go.

Address East Washington safety concerns so every resident can cross safely.

I’ve experienced being evicted, homelessness, as well as earning low wages. Having lived across income quartiles, as Alder I will continue to lead and champion strategies to tackle barriers to success for all members of our community.

Support pay equity for general employees for the City of Madison.
Transportation
Ensure BRT expansion benefits the residents of District 17 .
Small business development
Create opportunities so small businesses can thrive by providing facade grants and affordable retail spaces.
Seniors
Create opportunities for spaces and programming that are inclusive and accessible.
Disability Rights
Helping people with disabilities and their families understand their rights.

Work cooperatively with advocacy and community-based organizations serving people with disabilities.
